General Drugs and Alcohol Education
Where a more general awareness education program aimed at all employees, pupils, parents etc is required, we can deliver an interactive and enjoyable education session targeted at "Early Intervention Strategy". Aimed at groups of up to 35 persons, this half day session is highly informative, interactive and very enjoyable. Covering every aspect about the harm and dangers of drugs (illegal and legal) and alcohol this is very much a session for general awareness around substance misuse, and not policy specific.
NOTE: If you require a more detailed and policy specific course aimed specifically at H.R., Managers, Supervisors and other Key Policy Stakeholders, we would recommend our half day DandA© course.
During the interactive session, the delegates get the opportunity to ask questions and explore many aspects of drug and alcohol use. Learning is delivered through thought provoking powerpoint slides, video/clips and delegate games - including an "electrifying" look at taking risks!
We will cover a wide variety of substance misuse issues in the workplace, using multi-media teaching methods and group interaction and learning. This session is mapped to the Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards. (DANOS).
.DANOS UNITS COVERED
AA1 - Recognise indications of substance misuse and refer individuals to specialists;
AA6 - Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals;
AD1 - Raise awareness about substances, their use and effects;
AD4 - Develop and disseminate information and advice about substance use, health and social well-being;
AE1 - Testing for substance use
We are very effective in encouraging positive action and proactive responses within the workforce to support revised policy and practice.
Our Primary objective for this course is to raise awareness on Substance Misuse - illicit to legal - associated to the general workplace drug and alcohol policy. We can also tailor the deliveries according to each work place group - which can be discusses during the consultation phase. We briefly explain drug/alcohol testing procedures inclusive of means, mode and subsequent actions taken in the event of all outcomes. This allows us to challenge the attitudes of personnel who may object to the policy change or are concerned as to the actions and testing procedure on your behalf. It allows an opportunity to correct faulty thinking processes at the earliest stages and clear up any confusion that may exist at the time.
Our qualified trainers and presenters have worked in educational, policing, testing, and frontline user dependent environments for over 10 years. They are very experienced in delivering complex issues in the simplest (and often humorous) of terms to keep their audience alert and to enable understanding of the aims and objectives of the sessions.
