Substance Testing
ScreenSafe UK provides a “substance” testing service. Whether it is some suspect tablets, bags with traces of white powder, drugs paraphernalia or you wish us to swab a surface to detect traces of illegal drugs, we can analyse and report back with a full breakdown of findings. Results are available within 10 working days from receipt of items or quicker if required, via our FastTrack service. ALL enquires and reports are treated in the strictest of confidence.
Case Study 1
A customer suspected a home-worker of using cannabis while working. They sent in the company’s PC tower from the home workers home office. We swabbed the required surfaces, analysed the swabs and reported back the results. The result showed positive for the active ingredient in Cannabis, which proved that Cannabis had been smoked heavily around the PC tower. This then formed a crucial part to the folio of evidence presented that resulted in a successful case for the employer.
Case Study 2
Allegations were made against an employee that he was taking Cocaine while at work. The employee denied the allegations. During a search of his desk area, a small “sealy” bag was found with specks of white powder in it. When analysed, it showed positive for Cocaine. The employee denied that it was his bag, however, when he was offered a drug test he declined and decide to resign from the company.
Case Study 3
ScreenSafe UK were contacted when an employer found what he believed to be the remains of “spliffs” (Cannabis cigarettes) at the side of his factory. When analysed, the remains showed that they were indeed the remains of “spliffs”. He then installed a covert surveillance camera in the area where they were found, and the very next night watched as 3 employees stood smoking and passing around “spliffs” then throwing the ends onto the floor. He continued to gather evidence over the next couple of nights, picking up the “spliff” ends and sending them to us for analysis. All showed positive for Cannabis. The 3 employees, all whom were operating machinery while at work, were duly dismissed.
Case Study 4
A company in a shared office building had been told by other residents that members of their staff were taking Cocaine in the buildings shared toilet facility. The M.D. did not want to involve the Police at this point. He called ScreenSafe UK, and we went out the same day and swabbed the surfaces in the toilets. The swab analysis proved that Cocaine was indeed present. From this information, the M.D. then asked us to bring in our sniffer dogs. We did a thorough active search of the office and identified a number of persons who were in possession of controlled substances. We also found two bags of white powder (proved to be Cocaine) that had been “dumped” during the search.
