Peace of Mind Paternity Testing
Is a simple process used to remove any doubt as to the paternity of your Child.
ScreenSafe UK’s Paternity testing utilises the most advanced, accurate and reliable method of analysis available, offering a quick and simple testing service.
The test works by comparing the DNA of the child to that of the alleged father. Since every child inherits half their DNA from each parent, it can be determined whether or not the alleged father contributed to the DNA of the child
Legal Paternity Test
Over the last decade there has been a substantial increase in the use of DNA analysis within the legal sector to resolve many matters. Ranging from family law matters (such as child support, child custody, and visitation disputes), inheritance disputes, or to satisfy immigration requirements, DNA testing has provided a simple and accurate method of ascertaining the biological relationship between individuals.
A paternity test works by comparing the DNA of the child to that of the alleged father. Since every child inherits half their DNA from each biological parent, it can be determined whether or not the alleged father contributed to the DNA of the child
ScreenSafe UK utilises the most advanced, accurate and reliable method of analysis available. In addition we operate a strict chain of custody procedure for legal paternity testing; this is what makes our test results legally defensible in courts of law. From the moment a legal instruction is made the entire process is documented and can be checked at every stage to demonstrate full chain of custody compliance.
Immigration DNA Testing
ScreenSafe UK offers a variety of DNA testing services to prove biological ties to UK citizens who are sponsoring their immigration to the UK.
Our dedicated Immigration Department works closely with immigration solicitors and their clients and is very familiar with different agencies' and countries' immigration policies and guidelines.
ScreenSafe UK’s laboratory service is ISO-certified for laboratory excellence according to the ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Our paternity tests and other family relationship tests produce 100% accurate results that routinely exceed the immigration DNA testing requirements of not only different countries, but also satisfy the requirements of Entry Clearance Officers (ECOs) at the British High Commission, British embassies, and the Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND).
Complex Relationship Testing
The need to perform a complex DNA relationship test arises most often in matters of child support and child custody or for immigration purposes when:
Either a child’s alleged father is unavailable for paternity testing and the father’s relatives are available.
Or if both the biological parents of the child are deceased or missing and a biological relative wishes to apply for custody of the child.
Since a child inherits half their DNA form each of their biological parents, we can trace certain markers to relatives of the biological parents to determine if they contributed DNA to the child’s genetic profile (presumably through the missing or deceased alleged parent(s).)
Complex relationship tests include:
Avuncular
An Avuncular test can determine whether or not there is a biological relationship between a child and a sibling of either of the parents.
Siblingship Test
Full Siblingship Test: - can help two individuals verify whether they are full or half siblings.
Half Siblingship Test: - can help verify two alleged siblings that do not have the same biological mother but suspect they may have the same biological father.
1st Cousin Analysis
A 1st Cousinship test can determine whether or not there is a biological relationship between a child and a child of a sibling of either of the parents.
Grandparentage Test
A grandparentage test can determine whether or not there is a biological relationship between a child and a set of grandparents.
Y Chromosome Test
The Y chromosome test can be used to determine paternity in the absence of the alleged father. Y chromosome has a patriarchal mode of inheritance and barring mutations it will be identical in all males in the family who have common male ancestor. In the absence of alleged father’s DNA sample it is possible to compare Y Chromosomes between the child and the alleged paternal grandfather or alleged paternal uncle. If DNA markers on both chromosomes show an identical match then the child inherited this chromosome from the missing father.
Mitochondrial DNA test
Mitochondrial DNA has a matriarchal mode of inheritance and can show whether two or more individuals could share a common maternal ancestor. This test is predominantly used for cases where direct maternal lineage needs to be confirmed (e.g. maternity when mother’s DNA is not available) or for when identifying victims of catastrophes in cases where it is impossible to obtain good quality genomic DNA for example the identification of the 9/11 victims.
Expert Witness Services
With the continuing evolution of analytical techniques for the detection of bio-chemical compounds, it has become increasingly important, not only to have the results of testing, but also an interpretation.
Our experts are available to offer a range of consultancy advice for specific testing requirements. In addition to providing independent interpretations of analytical test result for Industrial, Criminal or Legal purposes.
